先日、門前の道路の陥没箇所を修正いただきたく陳情に上がったお役所のついでに教育委員会へもお邪魔して例の相良館の間違いの訂正もお願いしておりました。
道路段差も瞬時に改善していただきましたのでもしかするとと思い、近隣通行の機会もあってどんなものかと現場に顔を出してみました。するとやはり既に訂正済みでした。早い仕事で恐縮です。
私は「東急ハンズ」という大きな雑貨屋みたいな会社にお世話になっていましたが、そこで販促の仕事をかじっていました。
毎月のチラシ発行に誤字脱字の無い様細心の注意を払いました。それでも誤字脱字はつきもので仕上がり後に発覚した場合それらを眺めれば顔から火が出る如くでした。そういうことが判っていながら日々誤字多数ありそうな意味不明の文章を書いているということが真に僭越なところです。
さて色々な「不思議」に遭遇します。私の思い違いでしょうか。
初代鎌倉公方足利基氏(あしかがもとうじ)から数えて鎌倉公方家四代目、足利持氏(あしかがもちうじ)の「三の姫」を祭るのがこの社。
通説では鎌倉公方補佐役である関東管領の上杉禅秀（上杉氏憲）と叔父の足利満隆によって今川範国の駿河に追放された時に(上杉禅秀の乱)足利持氏が娘を当地(高瀬城山北、八相寺)に匿わせたといいます。
掲示板の記述は「足利持氏」では無く「足利基氏」の姫さまということになっています。
基氏は前述のとおり鎌倉公方の初代ですからそもそも関東管領家ではありませんね。相当適当なことを書いているようですが流して眺めて見れば「ふーん」と思ってしまうかも知れません。
ちなみに足利持氏は、五代将軍足利義量(よしかず)が17歳で没してすぐにその父、義持(よしもち)も亡くなって将軍職が空席になったとき、持氏は将軍義持の猶子であった立場から六代将軍を名乗り出ます。しかし結局は持氏の意に反して義持の弟たち4人の中からクジ引きで決めることとなってしまいました。
6代将軍は天台座主となっていた義円の還俗による足利義教(よしのり)に決まりました。これより義教将軍家と鎌倉公方持氏との確執がいよいよ深まり、永享の乱に発展してしまいます。結局持氏は「朝敵」にまで貶められて滅亡してしまいます。
話は飛びます。
義教は持氏が揶揄した「くじ将軍」の名に違わず処々の裁判沙汰を「神判」と称して「湯起請」(ゆきしょう)なる裁決方法を多く執り行ったそうです。天台の座主まで務めた人とは思えないナンセンスさですが当人の存在意義(クジが当たったことの因果と正当性)を主張するためにその「クジで決める」ことを流行させたのですね。子供の頃の、「どれにしようかな 神様のいうとおり」を思い出します。
以後江戸初期までより過激な「鉄火起請」(てっかきしょう)という「クジ＝神聖な裁判」に発展し、「物事の正当」を決めたという歴史が残っています。～6/5 NHKタイムスクープハンターで取り上げられていました～
熱湯に手を入れたり焼けた鉄を持つのですが、我慢比べゲームをして長く耐えた方、またはヤケドの具合が軽い方が勝ちです。
こういうことを耳にするだけでこの時代の無茶苦茶さクレージーさがよくわかりますね。
姫さまがこちらに来たのは上杉禅秀の乱の1416年頃でしたので持氏自害の1439年まで20年以上あります。姫さまはその間この地でどのように過ごしたのでしょうか。色々と想像がめぐります。
↑こちらは恵那市明知城跡の案内板、天正二年の武田勝頼の来攻で落城の憂き目にあったことが記されています。あの武田の猛将、山県三郎兵衛尉昌景の名が見られます。
当初「昌景」を「景昌」と記してしまったようで、簡易な訂正を行ったために「景昌」という字が下から浮き出てしまいました。
ミスの内容が表に出てしまうのは少し痛いかも。
←最後に先日の匂坂城跡に建っていた高価そうな石版の「彫り」をご紹介します。
平成六年の建立になる様ですが画像の字には「ふーん」とは頷けませんでした。
「源姓堀越姓」がホントだと思いますが･･･それとも私の不勉強?いや小生の経験などあてになりませんが今まで見たことがありませんので。
間違いでしたら看板と違って修正が難しいでしょうね。
私が制作担当者でしたらおそらく顔から火が出て眠れなくなるのでは。
